Pou promotional artwork showing the round brown blob pet

Pou has been on Android phones for over a decade, and the appeal has barely changed: a small blob that gets hungry, gets dirty, and pays you back in coins when you play its arcade games. We wanted that loop on any screen without an install, so we built Bloopy. It runs right here in your browser, it is free, and there is no account. Feed it, wash it, dress it up, then jump into a quick mini-game to earn coins.

Play Bloopy now

Tap Bloopy to say hi. Use the buttons at the bottom to feed, wash or put it to sleep, or open Play to earn coins. Best played with sound on (it starts muted, use the speaker button).

How to play

Three bars at the top track Belly, Fun and Fresh. They drain slowly while the page is open and stop when you leave. Nothing bad ever happens if they run low. Bloopy just looks a little sad until you help.

Tap or stroke Bloopy to pet it. Choose Feed and drag a snack to its mouth, or tap the snack. Choose Wash and rub the soap over it. Sleep dims the room. Open Wear to spend coins on colors and extras.

Play holds two 60 to 75 second games. Snack Catch has you slide left and right to catch falling snacks and skip the socks. Echo Hop asks you to copy a growing pattern of hops. Each round pays coins. There is also a daily challenge that is the same for everyone on a given day, and finishing it keeps your day streak going.

On a keyboard, F, W, S, P and H open the care actions, the arrow keys move in Snack Catch, and 1 to 4 tap the pads in Echo Hop. Your coins, outfits, best scores and streak are saved on your device. Nothing leaves your browser.

How it compares to Pou

Bloopy keeps the part of Pou that makes people keep coming back: a creature that reacts when you touch it, needs that tick down slowly, and a couple of short arcade games that pay for cosmetic upgrades. Rounds are quick, restarting is one tap, and there is always something small to buy next.

What we left out is most of the depth. Pou has a larger set of mini-games, a house with several rooms, many more outfits and items, and years of accumulated content. Bloopy has one room, two mini-games and a small wardrobe. We also chose not to add ads, purchases, timers that nag you, or any kind of account, so the game is smaller by design.

If you want the full set of rooms and games, or you want your pet on your phone all day, the real Pou is the better pick. Bloopy is for a few minutes at a desk or on a phone browser when you do not want to install anything.

If you like this style of game, our roundup of Tamagotchi-style virtual pet apps for Android covers Pou and six more, and our My Talking Tom 2 web version is a 3D take on the same idea.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play Pou in a browser?

Not the original app, which is built for Android. Bloopy, the game on this page, is our own blob pet game inspired by that feed, wash and play loop, and it runs in any modern browser on phone or desktop.

Is this the real Pou?

No. Bloopy is an original game we built from scratch, with its own character, art and sounds. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the publisher of Pou. The download links above point to the official app.

Can Bloopy die if I forget about it?

No. The bars only drop while the page is open, and they stop at a low level. Bloopy looks sad, and one feed, wash or play session cheers it up.

Is it free?

Yes. No ads, no purchases and no account. Coins are earned only by playing the mini-games.

Does it work offline?

Once the page has loaded, Bloopy makes no further network requests, so it keeps working if your connection drops. Your progress is stored in your browser, so clearing site data will reset it.
