Hungry Shark Evolution turns one simple idea into a very hard habit to break: eat smaller things, grow, and keep your belly full before the meter runs dry. If you want that feeling without waiting on an install, we built Reef Chomp, a stripped-down browser game that runs on this page. It is free, needs no signup, and works with a finger, a mouse, or the arrow keys.
Play Reef Chomp now
Move to swim, eat the smaller fish, and dodge anything bigger than you. Sound is off by default, so tap the speaker icon if you want it.
How to play
You are a small hungry fish in a big reef. Steer with your finger or mouse, or use the arrow keys or WASD, and bite anything smaller than you. Each meal refills your belly meter and makes you grow. Let the meter hit zero and the round ends.
Bigger fish will chase you, but they are always slower than you, and the shallows near the surface are safe from them. Jellyfish drift in the deeper water and sting if you touch them. Three bumps end the round, so swim around instead of through. Deeper water multiplies your points, which makes the risk worth thinking about.
Rounds last 90 seconds. As you grow you evolve from Minnow to Snapper, Barracuda, and Reef King. Every day has its own reef, the same for everyone, and the game counts your daily streak. Your best score is saved on your device. Nothing leaves your browser.
How Reef Chomp compares to Hungry Shark Evolution
We kept the loop: eat, grow, keep feeding, and avoid the things that can hurt you. Growth is visible, the hunger meter creates steady pressure, and the first fifteen seconds are easy enough that nobody needs a tutorial. A round is over in about a minute and a half, so “one more go” comes naturally.
We dropped almost everything else on purpose. There is no shark collection, no pets, no missions, no currency, and no purchases. Reef Chomp is also gentler in tone. You play a fish that bumps into bigger fish and stings, and nothing gets torn apart. The art, sounds and name are our own.
The official game is a much larger product. It has a big roster of creatures to unlock, a large map to explore, upgrades, and long-term progression, and it keeps running offline once installed. If Reef Chomp has you wanting more depth, that is what the full game offers. What our version offers is speed: it is playing before an app store page would finish loading.

Frequently asked questions
Can I play Hungry Shark Evolution in a browser?
We are not aware of an official browser version. The game is distributed as a mobile app. Reef Chomp on this page recreates the eat-and-grow idea in a browser with no install, and it works on phones, tablets, and desktops.
Is this the real Hungry Shark Evolution?
No. Reef Chomp is an original game we made, inspired by the core loop of Hungry Shark Evolution. We are not affiliated with its developer or publisher. For the official game, use the download links above.
Does Reef Chomp work offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded. It is a single small file with no outside requests, so it keeps working if your connection drops. Your best score and streak stay in your browser’s storage on your device.
Is Reef Chomp free?
Completely. There are no ads, purchases, accounts, or tracking. Every round is 90 seconds, and the daily reef changes once a day.
